There are three military-based family activities to occupy restless kids this Easter break.

The Royal Armouries Museum at Fort Nelson is staging a number of Victorian-based activities, including a big gun display, craft activities and a children’s treasure hunt. See royalarmouries.org

At the Royal Marines Museum in Eastney, you can train yourself to the peak of physical fitness with Commando Fit. This takes place outside on the mini assault course, is suitable for four to 14-year-olds and runs from Tuesday to Friday. See royalmarinesmuseum.co.uk

Or become a word detective, cracking codes and passing on secret messages about your life in Portsmouth at the City Museum.

This free event takes place on Wednesday at 2pm and 3.30pm. Phone (023) 9282 7261.
