A FESTIVAL in Portsmouth has let the city’s over 60s give some new activities a spin.

Hula-hoop games took place at the John Pounds Centre in Queen Street, Portsea, as part of two weeks of taster sessions for older people.

Among a dozen or so people taking part in the activity was 68-year-old Jillifer Lederer, of Byron Road, North End.

She said: ‘It was really good fun.

‘A couple of friends from the John Pounds Wednesday Club and I took part and we also want to try water aerobics, yoga and pilates.

‘They have given us quite a few things to try out.’
