The Gospel comes to life this Easter with a performance of Godspell at Cosham Baptist Church.

Performed by VisionWorks Musical Theatre Company and directed by Paul Clements, Godspell tells the story of Jesus’s life through a series of parables and stories from the Gospel of Matthew.

Interwoven with popular musical numbers, this performance shares an important message in a production that all the family can enjoy.

Godspell by Stephen Schwartz (Wicked, Enchanted) and John-Michael Tebelak is an epic production which was originally staged on Broadway in 1971, where it became one of the longest-running musicals. There have been many revivals since; including 2011 and 2012.

VisionWorks is a new Christian musical theatre company based in Portsmouth. It has been set up by a group of musical theatre professionals from a number of churches in the Portsmouth area with the intention of producing wholesome, high quality, thought provoking entertainment that is open to anyone.

This talented crew of local performers, will revitalise this classic 1970s musical and create a version of the show that you have never seen before, performing chart breaking songs such as Day By Day and By My Side.

Godspell plays at Cosham Baptist Church, Cosham from April 24–26 at 7.30pm with a 2.30pm Saturday matinee.

Tickets: £12, children £6, family £25. Call (023) 9298 4955 or visit visionworksmtc.co.uk for details.
