Have your say

Twenty-five-year-old Sam Street is the drummer in Portsmouth metal band Enochian Theory. On Monday they release their third album, Life...and All It Entails, having signed with a m0jor European record label in 2012

What would be your ideal weekend destination?

Somewhere really hot, probably in America, as I still haven’t been there.

Actually, anywhere right now would be fine with me.

Not counting your loved ones, who would be your dream companion?

Dream companion? Hmm...

A talking monkey. How cool would that be?

What music would you take with you?

Devin Townsend (his older stuff).

There is something for all situations in that man’s back catalogue.

What about something to read?

I would probably try to learn another language.

In our music genre it’s all mainland Europe-orientated, so I really should learn the basics of some of the main European languages.

What would be your ultimate way to relax?

A night round a friend’s house with a few drinks.

If money were no object, which shop would you head for?

A drum shop to get a brand new custom-made kit with Axis pedals, More Paiste cymbals and a kushy new throne.

What’s your all-time favourite film?

The Matrix, purely because it changed a lot of people’s views on reality.

And, of course, because of the ‘bullet time’ effects.

We’re buying the drinks tonight. What’s your poison?

A good old British ale, HSB to be precise.

And then a few whiskeys.

What are you doing this weekend?

Seeing as though our new album, Life... And All It Entails, is released on Monday, I’ll be filling this weekend with business meetings and celebratory drinks.

Mind you, I’m not sure that’s a good combination!

What’s a favourite local

destination for a weekend day out?

I like to go to a local Chinese restaurant called the Imperial Palace, then on to The Golden Lion, my local, for drinks.

Maybe a walk along the beach too, or is that a film I saw?

Enochian Theory formed in 2004 and have enjoyed impressive success in Europe.

Along with releasing their new album on Monday, the band are working on an animated short film set for release in April/May.
