Have your say

Wave 105 DJ ANDY JACKSON lives in Southampton. You can hear him on The Evening Show from 8pm to 11pm Sunday to Thursday, and on the Glitz Mix from 8pm to 11pm on Fridays.

What would be your ideal weekend destination?

Burnbake Campsite in the Isle of Purbeck.

It’s 10 minutes from one of the best beaches in the country.

I won’t say which one, but there are three National Trust ones nearby and it’s one of those!

Not counting your loved ones, who would be your dream companion?

Norah Jones. She could sing along with the ad hoc musical performances that occur there late into the evening.

What music would you take with you?

I have a little camping radio which is always on Wave 105!

What about something to read?

I love the work of Kurt Vonnegut, so I’d probably take Slaughterhouse-Five.

Or I could take any kind of travel writing, something like Michael Palin or Bill Bryson.

What would be your ultimate way to relax?

On a beach under a palm tree with a Cuba libre (rum, lime and coke)!

If money were no object, which shop would you head for?

The Apple Store. I’m a recent convert.

What’s your all-time favourite film?

Schindler’s List.

We’re buying the drinks tonight. What’s your poison?

A crisp, white wine would be lovely, thanks.

What are you doing this weekend?

I’ll be swimming with the kids this morning.

Then hopefully we’ll be enjoying a barbecue on the beach near Hill Head if the weather’s even vaguely warm.

What’s a favourite local destination for a weekend day out?

I love anywhere on the coast. We’re spoilt here, so it’s a toss-up between The Witterings near Chichester, Hill Head near Stubbington, Sandbanks near Poole or maybe a pub lunch somewhere in the New Forest.
