One of the biggest shows of its kind in the south of England takes place at the Weald and Downland Open Air Museum near Chichester this weekend.

The annual Heavy Horses and Working Animals Show will have a special theme for 2012, with interest in the film War Horse taking centre stage.

During the two-day event you can see a skilful First World War re-enactment of mounted 16th Lancers.

During the weekend a variety of heavy horse breeds will be represented and taking part in a range of activities, including demonstrations of traditional work tasks. There is continuous ringside commentary and a parade of horses to end each day.
