Have your say

Discover frightful facts and horrible habits of the animals at the Blue Reef Aquarium this weekend.

Until next Sunday, visitors can take part in Yucky Easter, a special event dedicated to some of the animal world’s most disgusting creatures.

There will also be the opportunity to get involved with ‘yucky mucky’ hands-on experiments, and get to grips with the animals under the expert supervision of the aquarists.

Blue Reef Aquarium’s Jen Atkinson says: ‘We’re all fascinated by the more disgusting aspects of the animal kingdom, so we decided to dedicate an entire event to the things that make you go ‘yuck!’

‘From fishy slime and starfish that throw up their own stomachs, to gelatinous jellyfish and the disgusting dinners we feed our aquatic inhabitants, there’s loads of gross goings-on.’

Included in the daily activities will by Yucky Mucky mini tours of the aquarium, rock pool encounters with some of the underwater creatures, special talks about the aquarium’s inhabitants and animal feeds.
