A chimney sweep stood on board HMS Warrior to wish these newlyweds luck.

The historic ship was the venue for the wedding of Lianne Harris and Iain Mitchell on Saturday July 16.

The chimney sweep tradition dates back around 300 years when it was announced by royal decree that all sweeps were lucky. This one, from Pebble Beach Chimney Sweeps, gave a gift of coal and a coin.

Lianne wore an ivory dress by Amy Hamilton and carried a bouquet of orange and ivory silk flowers, made by her mother, Toni Harris.

Her bridesmaids were Danielle Harris, Rebecca Richmond, Victoria Neal and Chloe Mitchell, who all wore black and ivory dresses.

The pageboy was Ciaran Mitchell-Neal, the best man was Danny Mitchell and the usher was Logan Roy.

Lianne and Iain, from Southsea, designed their own wedding rings to include a piece of sapphire in each as their ‘something blue’.
