Until the end of August, Gunwharf Quays will be transformed into a beach with everything from live music, seaside wall art, cut-out photo faces and, of course, lots and lots of sand!

Every day from 11am until 5pm the seaside will play host to activities, including Sand Tower building competitions, as well as ballroom and tap dancing. Visitors can sit back and take in the sights while deep sea fanatics can explore the Blue Reef Aquarium and big and little kids alike can enjoy Punch and Judy fun.

The free entertainment includes sand tower building every Tuesday (with the Spinnaker Tower), appearances from the Blue Reef Aquarium team and underwater stars on Wednesdays and Punch and Judy shows every Thursday and Sunday from Thursday until August 15.

Ballroom, tap and disco sessions will take place every Friday, each week at 11.30am, 12.30pm, 2.30pm and 3.30pm.

On Saturdays Capital FM take over the seaside for the day and will be running activities for all the family to take part in.

Peter Emery, Gunwharf Quays centre director, commented: ‘The Great British Seaside has grown from strength to strength and we are very excited to be hosting the event for the third year! It’s great to reminisce and recreate that authentic seaside atmosphere, I’m particularly looking forward to the Punch and Judy.’
