Graham Street, 48, from Southsea, has served in the Royal Navy for 26 years and works on HMS Victory.
He was the 2012 winner of Portsmouth weight loss contest Biggest Loser, run by 24/7 Fitness. He has been mentoring this year’s contestants and is near to finishing a personal training qualification. Graham lives with his partner Alison and has four sons.
When did you last go away and where did you go?
Last summer we went to Cheddar. We are keen on camping so did that. We had a great time and the kids loved the area and the activities that were on offer.
What was the last gig/concert/comedy show you went to?
We have some friends that play in local bands so we go to watch them. I really like the UK Chilli Peppers. Last year we went to the concert in the Dockyard and will be going back there this year.
And the last book you read?
The last book was Nelson’s Navy. I really like the history of Trafalgar and have done a fair few after dinner speeches on that.
The last film you saw at the cinema or on DVD?
I am not a massive film watcher but I do like the American comedy type. Step Brothers is my favourite.
What’s your favourite way to relax?
I love relaxing with a long dog walk through the forest. I have two boxer dogs and they need a lot of exercise. Then it’s a long shower and a good red wine. I am also the forwards rugby coach at Portsmouth Rugby Club, although that is probably more frustrating than relaxing!
What do you watch on TV?
I enjoy watching the antiques programmes and also American Pickers. It’s amazing the stuff that they uncover.
And which TV programmes do you avoid?
I don’t watch any soaps on the TV. I just can’t believe the storylines they come out with.
Which celebrity would you most like to spend a weekend with?
I would love to spend a weekend with Keith Lemon. He is barking mad but also very funny.
Where do you shop?
Shopping is one of my favourite pastimes. I don’t buy a particular brand all the time. I just tend to buy what I like. Although I have lost weight, it still isn’t easy to get trendy clothes but I do try. There are some great places online to shop so often I do that.
Where do you eat out?
I love Nando’s and a good carvery.
What about pubs and bars? Where do you go?
I am a social person and like to go to a good local pub. I am often seen in the Barley Mow in Castle Road, Southsea or out in Albert Road.
Where’s good for a day out locally?
As I serve on the Victory I would say the best day out is the Dockyard. There is lots to do and the people from Portsmouth Historic Dockyard really look after you. I think Victory is the best maritime attraction in the world.
