Mark Collins is a Wave 105 presenter and lives in West Sussex. This year he is celebrating working in radio for 25 years. He has presented on various UK stations.
When did you last go away and where did you go?
We try and go on holiday every year and like to go abroad. Last year it was 10 days in Spain in an apartment on the Costa del Sol. After the summers we’ve had in the UK in recent years, it’s good to feel the sun on your skin in August.
What was the last gig/concert you went to?
I’m a huge Bruce Springsteen fan and have seen him live 22 times. Three of those were last year in Coventry, London and Cardiff. He never disappoints, playing for three hours without a break so you certainly get your money’s worth. The last gig was Johnny Marr at the Wedgewood Rooms in Portsmouth.
What about the last theatre show you saw?
I go to the pantomime in Southampton every year and I also attend many of their shows throughout the year. One of my daughters is into musical theatre and the other loves dance so we tend to go to shows with them.
And the last book you read?
I read a lot of autobiographies but I only get to read when on holiday. The last two books were the autobiographies of Danny Baker and Jeremy Vine. Can you see a pattern developing?
What was the last film you saw at the cinema or on DVD?
The last film I saw at the cinema was Skyfall. I tend to download films and then watch them when I have the time. I saw Gangs of New York and Django Unchained recently, both of which I enjoyed.
What do you watch on TV?
I love comedies, sport, dramas and factual programmes. Programmes like Mock the Week (right) , QI and Have I Got News for You rank among my favourites. A good three-part detective series is also entertaining, but after watching the whole of Breaking Bad at the end of last year, nothing comes close to that.
And which TV programmes do you avoid?
Reality TV is one of my pet hates – Housewives of Orange County, Keeping Up with the Kardashians, Celebrity Big Brother anything like that.
Which celeb would you most like to spend a weekend with?
Bruce Springsteen and Nigella Lawson for completely different reasons.
Where do you shop?
My Achilles heel is shirts; I love a good shirt so it’s normally Ted Baker or Paul Smith at Gunwharf Quays that get most of my business.
Where do you eat out?
If I’m eating out it’s usually in Chichester where there’s a varied range of different restaurants. I love seafood the most so any decent fish restaurant would be on my list.
What about pubs and bars – where do you go?
Trents in Chichester is a good place to hang out, along with Marco’s. But if it’s a pub you’re looking for it has to be the Park Tavern in Chichester; a proper drinker’s pub with blokes who want a chat and a pint.
