When did you last go away and where did you go?

I was taken to Paris for my birthday. I love France and spend a lot of time there, but I had not been to the city since I was a teenager and I had this romantic notion about spending a birthday there. The trip exceeded my all expectations. My birthday dinner was on a boat travelling up the River Seine with all the iconic monuments lit up in the night’s sky – like a dream.

What was the last gig/concert you went to?

Lily Allen at Portsmouth Guildhall. I was really excited as I am a huge fan of hers. She is one of very few artists of her generation using pop music to make social comment and challenge the status quo.

What about the last theatre show you saw?

I love theatre. I am a friend of Chichester Festival Theatre and often go to The Mayflower in Southampton and Theatre Royal in Brighton, but the last production I saw was Great Britain at the Theatre Royal Haymarket in London – a satire about life for journalists in a tabloid newspaper.

The last film you saw at the cinema or on DVD?

Cinderella. Kenneth Branagh is a true genius and I loved Helena Bonham-Carter as the Fairy Godmother, but Cate Blanchett stole the show. She was terrifying and I love the way the film gave her character a backstory to explain why she was such a bad Stepmother.

Which celeb would you most like to spend a weekend with?

Oh my goodness, I could do you a long, long list including Nigella Lawson, Boris Johnson, Claudia Winkleman, George Clooney, the Obamas, Judge Judy…… If I had to pick one, it would have to be The Queen. She is inspirational.

Where do you eat out?

Anyone who knows me, knows I eat out a lot. Too much. Locally, my favourite is Nemrut in Albert Road and if I am in Gunwharf Quays I go for Strada.

Where’s good for a day out locally?

Now the weather is getting better, the beach. I am lucky to live a short walk away from Eastney Beach and I have friends that come down just to hang out by the sea.

Do you have any hobbies?

Apart from all the above, I do love and follow pop music - Taylor Swift capturing most of my attention lately. I hate it when people call it a ‘guilty pleasure’. What is there to be guilty about?
