Oliver Stolborg and Jenny Harris chose the beautiful scenery of the Lake District as the backdrop for their wedding.
They visit the picturesque area frequently and Jenny enjoyed many childhood holidays there, so it’s an important place for the Portsmouth couple.
But they made sure they were prepared for the variable North West weather,
‘It’s such a beautiful place and really appealed to us,’ says Oliver: ‘It does rain a lot but we planned for that by providing everyone with an umbrella. But in the end it was okay, just a bit of rain.’
Jenny, 31, and Oliver, 30, were married at St Oswald’s Church in Grasmere. To make the most of the lovely setting they organised a boat trip after the ceremony.
Their lucky guests also tucked into pie and mash and enjoyed dancing and a kids’ style party buffet in the evening.
The couple have the knack of finding gorgeous surroundings for momentous occasions.
Having met while working at a camp site in Tuscany, they were engaged on a return trip to Florence.
Oliver proposed in the Piazzale Michelangelo overlooking the romantic city.
Jenny, a support housing worker, and Oliver, a helpdesk advisor at Queen Alexandra Hospital, are planning a honeymoon in India.
