A dragon boat race and a military parade are two of the highlights during Emsworth’s week-long St George’s Day celebrations.
It kicks off today, with the best-dressed shop window finals, followed by a jazz night with the George’s Regis Jazz Band at Emsworth Community Centre tomorrow evening from 7.30pm.
Tickets for this performance cost £10 and are available from Classy Cooks and Newsmag stores in Emsworth.
The St George’s Day Military Parade, with a military band, starts at 10.30am on Monday. Before and after the ceremony, The George’s Regis Jazz Band will play in the town centre.
Also on Monday, a curry night is being held at Spice Village from 7pm.
Tickets, which include a curry and live music, cost £15 (excluding drinks) and every penny taken during the evening will be donated to The Royal Artillery Charitable Fund.
Highlights on Wednesday include Springfield quiz night at the Brookfield Hotel and sea shanties and supper at Emsworth Sailing Club (both start at 7.30pm).
Then next Sunday (April 29) is the Dragon Boat Race, on Mill Pond, from 9am, plus an arts trail in The Square all day.
