THIS WEEK IN 1994: Family rocked by marathon tragedy

Have your say

MERMAIDS and pirates are welcomed ashore for a sea fantasy adventure this weekend at Portsmouth Historic Dockyard.

Set sail for the venue and take part in swashbuckling family fun, including face painting and challenging family activities.

If you are brave enough, you can also have your photo taken with the Pirate Captain.

Whilst there, grab a snack from the pirate cookie stall too.

Students from Highbury College will be disguised as pirates, mermaids and Tudor sailors during the event, which has been organised to help raise money for the Mary Rose 500 Appeal.

This free fun event takes place outside the Mary Rose Museum within Portsmouth Historic Dockyard tomorrow and Sunday, from noon onwards.
