Have your say

We may not have Caribbean weather, but there’s some pirates heading for Port Solent for one day only.

Head along to say ‘ahoy me hearties’ to Captain Jack Sparrow and his ship-mates on Monday between 11am and 5pm.

The lads and lassies will love the captivating pirate tales and action-packed stunt shows, as well as the free children’s adventure playground, while mums will enjoy meeting a great Johnny Depp lookalike.

Port Solent Marketing and Events Coordinator Hannah Hill says: ‘We know families are struggling to find free ways to stay entertained and spend quality time together at this time of year, so we’ve created a unique day out experience that won’t be forgotten in a hurry.

‘So, heave-ho to Port Solent this August bank holiday for a great day out for the whole family.’

Before pirates set shore for Port Solent, the waterside venue will play host to a day full of puppetry and magic tricks tomorrow.

Then on Wednesday, August 31, Port Solent will be visited by SamSam the Bubble Man, famous for his bubble tricks and blowing enormous bubbles.

Both events run from 11am until 4pm and there will also be free face painting. For details, visit portsolent.com
