Every summer, The Point in Eastleigh throws open its doors to aspiring young dancers with the inspirational Elevate Summer Schools.

Aimed at those aged 14 to 21 who are in professional training, Elevate is led by some of the country’s top dancers and choreographers.

The programme offers the chance to try a variety of dance styles – including break, acrobalance, hip hop and African dance.

This year, the summer school includes day-long creative workshops that focus on choreography in a relaxed atmosphere.

Alongside the popular summer programme, Elevate: Integrate provides a platform for disabled and non-disabled dancers aged 14 to 25 to work together and is suitable for those with limited movement or verbal comprehension.

This year dancers will get the chance to work with one of the country’s leading integrated professional companies, Stopgap Dance UK, in warm-up classes, improvisation and contact work.

Elevate Summer School runs from August 4-8. Cost: £170 for the whole course, £40 for five morning classes, £40 for four evening classes, £110 for workshops.

Elevate: Integrate runs from August 11-15 August. The whole week costs £110. Applications must be made by Friday June 27.
