LITTLE Thomas Allfree was beaming when his school was given a huge accolade.

The five-year-old goes to Redlands Primary School, Fareham, and it scooped the top prize in the Best School category.

Thomas was born with heart and kidney failure, and thanks to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, he was able to meet CBeebies star Mr Tumble in London.

And classmates decided they wanted to help out the charity that helped Thomas by collecting more than 80 bags of donated items to be sold on.

Karen Arnold, early years classroom assistant, who organised the collection, said: ‘This was a really small idea, which just grew.

‘The award highlights the fantastic work done by the children at the school and we’re very proud of them.’

Wickham CofE School was runner-up.
