Helping people to locate friends or family they’ve lost contact with.

UPSON: I am researching my family tree and would like to find my cousins who live/lived in Portsmouth. I do not know their christian names but their father was called Sidney Victor Upson (died 1981) and mother Evelyn Alice Upson (nee Smith died 1973?).

Susan Smith nee Stephens (Stunt) My husband is looking for his sister who was born in 1955 in Portsmouth. He hasn’t seen her since 1957 when he was eight and she would have been three.

Her name is Susan Stephens. She was adopted soon after their mother died in 1957 and Ray lost contact with her. The family that adopted her was “Stunt”. She married David Edward Smith in 1974. I believe that she had three children and was a hairdresser. I also believe that they were divorced and that she may have remarried. I have also been told that she used to go to the Royal Marines Association club.

Ray emigrated to Australia in 1974 and is about to visit the UK. He would dearly love to find her or her children.

Hunt: I have been trying to locate Anthony Maurice Hunt (known to his friends as Maurice or Mo Hunt) and his wife Doreen. Maurice originally came from South Molton in Devon and joined the RN as an artificer apprentice in September 1959. Maurice married Doreen (Griffiths) in Fareham on February 9, 1974. I lost touch with Maurice in 1983 when we both left the RN. Since leaving the RN, Maurice and Doreen may have spent a number of years living around the Farnborough area.

Any help in locating Maurice and Doreen would be appreciated; both myself and a number of Maurice’s former shipmates would very much like to renew our friendships.
