LETTER OF THE DAY: Housing - more needs to be done

Have your say

Roll up, roll up, because Billy Smart’s Circus is back.

The long-running show has returned to Southsea Common for a 10-day residency as part of its 2014 tour.

This year’s show, hosted by the founder’s grandaughter Yasmine Smart, will feature award-winning artists from around the world in a fast-paced, two-hour spectacle for all the family.

Performers include the Flying Aces from Australia on the trapeze, and the Asadullin Troupe from Russia bring their spectacular Springboard and Russian Bar acts to the U.K. for the first time.

Yasmine says: ‘Our circus has changed since 1971, but to make this new version we’ve kept two essential ingredients - the highest standard of performance, and magic, the true magic of the Big Top.

‘This is a young company, a young show - a new generation of Billy Smart’s Circus.’

Billy Smart’s Circus runs on the common until Sunday, August 31.

Performances times: 2.30pm and 7.00pm daily, except Sundays and bank holiday Monday at 12.30pm and 3.30pm.

Ticket prices range from £10 - £28. Visit
