Theatre: The Foot In The Door theatre company is performing Taming Of The Shrew, Shakespeare’s most controversial comedy, at Victoria Park, Portsmouth on Sunday.

Theatre: The Foot In The Door theatre company is performing Taming Of The Shrew, Shakespeare’s most controversial comedy, at Victoria Park, Portsmouth on Sunday. The open air theatre will give the play a rustic feel with traditional charm. Take a picnic and a blanket and enjoy the summer weather and drama production. There are two performances at 12pm and 3pm. Admission is free.

Story telling: Mr Potato is visiting Southsea Library in Palmerston Road next Thursday at 2pm. Mr Potato is a celebrity in the world of Peppa Pig and he owns his own theme park – Potato City. Mr Potato will help a member of the library staff to read one of the stories that has been chosen. There will also be a raffle to win a family ticket to go to Peppa Pig’s Big Splash theatre production at the Kings Theatre, Southsea. Mr Potato will be at the library from 2pm. (023) 9268 8999.

Sport: This weekend is the Great British Tennis Weekend, where you are given the chance to try tennis for free. You will be able to take part in cardio tennis, mini tennis, receive tennis coaching or just book a court out – all for free. All of the participating venues will provide rackets and balls, so all you need is sensible shoes and clothing and a drink. Booking a court or a training session is essential.
