How did you get into it and why?
I gained prior knowledge and a respect for Boarhunt whilst working in my previous role in local government. I'd worked closely with the team on a number of projects, and was always impressed with their work and service.
I began to take more of an interest in developing my career, particularly in the private sector, so when the opportunity arose at Boarhunt I jumped at the chance to join them.
What do you enjoy about it and not like about it?
Specifically, finding that key bit of information that leads to new business opportunities can be very satisfying, and working with our customers to ensure the smooth running of existing contracts gives a great sense of achievement.
And not like about it?
That's a difficult one. It can be frustrating trying to speak to the key decision-makers within an organisation, but then that is part of the challenge!
What would be your idea of a perfect day?
To negotiate a new contract award in the morning, solve an existing client's operational problem in the afternoon and finish off the day by watching Pompey's FA Cup final win again with all the family!
