So keen to get on the catwalk
Her dream is to become a top model but portfolios and the latest fashions cost money that Talia Wilson just doesn't have.
The 15-year-old is desperate to take the catwalks of the world by storm but knows that it will take lots of hard work and bags of effort to get there.
She's been told she's got the face and figure for a career as a professional model but was in need of a helping hand when it came to getting her look spot-on.
The teenager from North End, Portsmouth, told us: 'I've wanted to be a model for ages. People I know have said I've got the face but I don't have the money to get a portfolio or have my hair done.'
Talia, who will study animal care at college in September, contacted us and asked if we could help.
We arranged for her to meet up with the team at Gems Hair and Beauty in London Road, North End, Portsmouth, for a makeover.
Hair
Talia chatted with senior stylist Kat Prior who talked to her about what styles would suit her oval-shaped face and what colours would complement her skin tone.
Talia was happy to put herself completely in Kat's hands and went for a total transformation.
Kat began by chopping off inches from Talia's shoulder-length style and tamed her locks into a disconnected bob. Kat cut the hair so it was short at the back but longer at the front which instantly updated her style.
The hair was layered throughout to add extra texture, giving Talia a finished look that could be funked-up or worn sleek.
Kat was keen to give Talia's faded brown hair a fresh new colour as well and applied a dark brown followed by flashes of burgundy through the sides.
Small Talk thickening lotion was used, followed by wax to break up the textures.
Make-up
Salon owner Janette Copps was in charge of creating a flawless make-up look for Talia and began by applying an airbrush foundation.
She used Clinique foundation and applied it in a fine spray to create the perfect base.
Bronzer was swept across the face to create a healthy colour and Talia opted for a smoky look on the eyes, which Janette created using a Stilla grey as a base, and a glittery, darker, top colour.
Lashings of black mascara were applied and black eyeliner completed the
look.
As Janette had focused heavily on the eyes, she kept the lips looking natural with a nude lipgloss.
Clothes
Talia went to Peacocks in London Road, North End, Portsmouth, where she picked out the outfit above. She wore a floral dress, 14, and teamed it with a denim waistcoat, 12, and cowboy- style boots, 18. To accessorise she wore black beads and a black bangle.
Verdict
Talia says: 'I love my hair and make-up. I really wanted a bob and I think it looks great.
'I really want to go further with the modelling and I'm going to enter the Miss Portsmouth contest next year. Today's been really good, I've had a really nice time.'
