Those watching the BRIT Awards missed out on an epic performance from the Kaiser Chiefs at Portsmouth Guildhall on Tuesday night.

Supported by new talents Fixers and All the Young, they whipped the crowd into a vivacious frenzy.

The indie rock band from Leeds wasted no time in delivering their opinion. ‘The Brits suck,’ shouted frontman Ricky Wilson as they launched into Everyday I Love You Less and Less.

It’s true, they could be bitter or sad about not being at the London ceremony. But, to be fair to the Kaisers, they have only just returned following a musical hiatus since 2008.

With four albums under their belt and the fifth instalment – Start The Revolution Without Me – on its way, they treated us to a wide spectrum of material.

Delivering a fantastic concoction of swagger and hits, they were quick to bang out Ruby and I Predict A Riot.

We didn’t need to rattle our jewellery in the balconies as Wilson embarked on a journey from the far corners to the dress circle, treating us to as closer view of the frontman in action.

This band’s energy is relentless and we bid a fond farewell over Oh My God.
