Trio of operas will be screened live

A dramatic collection of operas will be screened live from London’s Royal Opera House on February 6. Vue Portsmouth will screen Il Trittico, which comprises of three mini operas, centred around themes of love and deception.
Il Tabarro is Set in 1910 on a barge on the Seine in Paris, and charts the love triangle between Giorgetta, her husband Michele and her lover, Luigi. The lovers plot to murder Michele, but it goes tragically wrong.
Suor Angelica is an tale of religious redemption. Set in a convent near Siena in the 17th century, it revolves around Sister Angelica – condemned to a convent by her noble family after giving birth to an illegitimate son.
Gianni Schicchi is set in 1299 Florence, and focuses on a man who’s is enlisted by the gluttonous Donati family to assume the identity of their rich relative, Buoso.
Vue will be screening Romeo and Juliet, Rigoletto, and La Fille Mal Gerdee over the coming year.
