BALLROOM dancing, judo kicks and strawberry teas helped make a community centre’s celebrations great.
Titchfield Community Association held a packed day of demonstrations from groups that use the Titchfield Community Centre to mark its 50th year on Saturday.
Solent School of Dance, Crofton Judo Club and Oasis Youth Club were just three of the many involved.
Julian Gibbs, chairman of Titchfield Community Association, said: ‘We held our 50th AGM so we got as many of the groups as we could together to celebrate.
‘It has been humming, buzzing, electric, whatever adjective you care to use.’
The Titchfield Community Centre tied its celebrations into to the Titchfield Midsummer festival, which were events on Barry’s Meadow, at the Great Barn and in the Parish Rooms.
Mr Gibbs said he was particularly looking forward to the strawberry teas that Titchfield WI has put on in the Parish Rooms and added: ‘It is a fantastic place that hosts so many groups from all over the area.’
Deputy mayor of Fareham Councillor Michael Ford and Titchfield ward councillor Tiffany Harper had the honour of cutting the birthday cake.
Cllr Ford said: ‘It is fantastic. I have never seen a community centre with such a packed schedule.
‘If you are looking for something that represents the fantastic Titchfield community, then this is it.’
