Young to headline

TV talent show winners don't always go the distance.

Just took at Steve Brookstein or Michelle McManus.

But after exploding into the music business in 2002 after becoming the first 'Pop Idol', Will Young has been much more than a one-hit wonder.

With four multi-platinum albums, four Number One singles in the UK and a Greatest Hits album under his belt, he has sold more than eight million records, and is without doubt one of the most successful male artists of his time.

He has won three National Music Awards and two Brit Awards and he's set to wow fans at the Osborne House Summer Concerts tomorrow, with two special guests.

Southampton's Charley Macaulay will be one of the acts joining Will Young on the Isle of Wight tonight, after becoming Number One in the 2008 UK Undiscovered Chart.

Alongside her will be singer-songwriter (and sister of Robert) Lizzy Pattinson, who is working on her debut album.

On Sunday, the Osborne House Summer Concerts will continue with the '80s Party Night, with Bananarama headlining alongside 'Never Gonna Give You Up' singer Rick Astley, as well as Belinda Carlisle, ABC, Howard Jones and Go West.

The weekend on the Isle of Wight as a whole promises entertainment for everyone, with Cowes Week on the agenda too.

Tickets cost 35 for each night, or 60 for the weekend from ticketzone.co.uk or 08444 99 99 55.
