AROUND 3,000 homes in West Sussex are set to benefit from energy-saving improvements to their homes.

It comes as West Sussex County Council has secured around £20m investment from British Gas.

Energy companies are being encouraged by the government to spend millions on installing energy-saving improvements – or else they could face fines.

The West Sussex scheme would be run over the next two years.

Deputy council leader Lionel Barnard said the authority had ‘acted quickly to take advantage of the opportunity’.
