The crowd of up to 70,000 fans waved flags and chanted as half-drunk beer cans showered down on the celebrating masses.
Tens of thousands of fans started chanting Play Up Pompey as the big screen showed Harry's boys lifting the FA cup for the first since 1939.

For the first half of the game chants boomed across the crowd, which erupted in a frenzy when Kanu found the back of the net.
The crowd quietened down in the second half as Cardiff started attacking and the tension built up.
In the seventy third minute the screen blacked out for a few seconds and a resounding boo echoed round the Common.
But when screen jumped back into life the crowd erupted again in cheers.
As the game moved into four minutes of injury, time whistles sounded out as fans hoisted their mobile phones in the air to video the final minutes of the game.
When the referee blew for full-time groups of people stayed celebrating the victory on the Common while thousands flooded into the streets still cheering and chanting.
