Cancer survivor Craig Beetlestone is teeing up to raise thousands of pounds for Cancer Research.
Since beating the disease five years ago, the father-of-two has donated more than £5,000 through a yearly golf challenge.

This year he wants to keep up the momentum by rallying golf fans and first-timers to tee off at Southwick Park.

Mr Beetlestone, 48, who runs Fratton Live At Home, a charity for the elderly, said: 'I was diagnosed in 2003 and within a matter of weeks I was in hospital and lost a kidney.

'I'm very, very fortunate because if they hadn't operated I would've been dead by Christmas. I knew straight away I wanted to give something back because my life had been saved.'

The event on Tuesday, May 20, starts with a nine-hole competition in the morning, followed by lunch, with 18 holes in the afternoon, and supper.

It costs £55 with all proceeds going to Cancer Research.
