If you were served the strange object, pictured right, at a restaurant you might have a quiet word with the waiter.
But the white carrot is actually award-winning – after scooping the title as the oddest-shaped vegetable at an autumn show.
Doug Glading's specimen impressed judges at the event organised by the Catisfield and District Horticultural Society.
As well as the oddly-shaped carrot, there were interesting displays including a collection of multi-coloured chillis and peppers.
Saturday's show saw gardeners compete in more than 60 different categories including flowers, fruit and vegetables and photography.
Organisers were delighted at the number of entries in this year's show which took place in Catisfield Memorial Hall in Catisfield Lane, Fareham.
Alan Martin, chairman of the society, said the group has more members than at any time in its 47-year history.
He said: 'It was great to see so many people. At a time when a lot of horticultural societies are struggling we are really thriving.
'We had 202 exhibits, we were beginning to wonder where we would find the space for them!
'We are still trying to find new members so I would ask anybody who may be interested to get in touch with me or come to one of our monthly meetings.'
If you are interested in joining the society call Mr Martin on 01329 312269.
