A headteacher will be putting on his running shoes once again to raise money for his school.
Mike Bainbridge, head of Titchfield Primary School, will run the Berlin Marathon later this month.
Mr Bainbridge, who is a member of the Stubbington Green Runners, has already run three marathons in the past to raise money for projects at the school.
Last year he was sponsored by the local community for £3,000, which went towards a new playground.
He now has high hopes of raising the same amount this year.
The 42-year-old said: 'I've been a runner for years and want to encourage children to get into sport at an early age. When the going gets tough you can get some great satisfaction out of running.
'I run 60 miles a week in training but with two young children and being a headteacher I don't get to do as much as I'd like to.
'But I'm really looking forward to this marathon, especially as it's abroad.'
This year the money raised will go towards the school's steel band, Pans Ablaze, so it can buy a trailer to use to travel to and from performances.
