THE Mayor of Gosport is extending a welcome to his annual carol service.
Councillor Derek Kimber and his wife Pat are hosting the civic carol service on Sunday, December 14.

The service, which is at St Faith's Church in Lee-on-the-Solent, starts at 6pm, and will be taken by the Rev Peter Sutton.

It will feature the Christmas story told through readings and carols.

Also attending the service will be councillors, aldermen, Gosport MP Sir Peter Viggers and representatives from organisations based in and around Gosport.

Cllr Kimber said: 'This is a wonderful way for the whole family to get together and remember what Christmas should really be all about.'

'Forget all the worrying about shopping and buying presents.

'Instead, come along and join in the carol singing and, surrounded by your loved ones, celebrate the true meaning of Christmas, something families have continued to do together down through the years.'

Following the service, refreshments will be served in the nearby Bulson Hall.
