A Leigh Park rapist has been found guilty of murdering Scottish schoolgirl Vicky Hamilton 17 years ago.
Peter Tobin was jailed for 14 years in 1993 for raping and indecently assaulting two teenage girls at his home in Billy Lawn Avenue, Leigh Park.
Two years earlier in February 1991 he had abducted Vicky Hamilton in Scotland and took her back to his home in Robertson Avenue in Bathgate, West Lothian.
Once there he drugged the 15-year-old, raped her and then killed her.
Tobin, 62, cut her dead body in half, wrapped it in black bin bags and buried her in the garden of another home in Margate, Kent.
The body lay undiscovered until last year.
Today a jury at the High Court in Dundee convicted Tobin of Vicky's rape and murder more than 17 years after she first disappeared.
Tobin had claimed that he was in the Portsmouth area at the time she disappeared but the jury rejected his account and convicted him.
He has been jailed for a minimum of 30 years.
Tobin is already serving a life sentence for raping and murdering Polish student Angelika Kluk and hiding her body in a Glasgow church in 2006.
