It's going to be an unusual sight – a garden shed plonked in the middle of Havant's main shopping street, with a poet inside.
John Davies, known as Shedman, will bring his own shed with him to conduct impromptu workshops, invite passers-by to tour his shed and even accept on-the-spot commissions for an ode or a sonnet.
For two days Mr Davies and his shed, will be a feature of the pedestrian arcade in West Street, bringing literature and poetry to the masses as part of the inaugural Havant Literary Festival.
Director Lucy Flannery said: 'A lot of famous writers like Dylan Thomas and Roald Dahl retreated to their sheds to write in solitude and privacy.
'Shedman takes his shed to work with him. He's one of a kind.'
Mrs Flannery said one of the festival aims was to allow people to experience literature in new and diverse ways.
Once the festival is over the shed will then be auctioned with the proceeds going to charity.
Shedman will be in West Street all day on Friday, September 26 and Saturday, September 27.
