TOTTENHAM could impose lifetime bans on the fans who abused Sol Campbell at Fratton Park.
Spurs have already agreed to co-operate with Hampshire police who are sifting through CCTV footage in a bid to single out those guilty of baiting Pompey's skipper.
Any supporters who are positively identified will face the ultimate punishment.
Tottenham safety officer Sue Tilling said: 'This club will ban for life any of the mindless individuals proved to be responsible for the unacceptable abuse directed at Sol Campbell. We have taken such action before and will do so again.
'For while everyone understands that chanting is part of the game of football, every right-thinking person agrees that this sorry, shameful incident completely crossed the line which separates what is acceptable from what is not.
'That's why we are co-operating fully with Hampshire police to try to track down the culprits.'
Pompey have already pledged to make an official complaint to the FA over the incident, after talking to Campbell.
