Police are hunting two men after a violent robbery at a petrol station.
Detectives today released CCTV images of two men who targeted the Total garage in Privett Road, Gosport.

The pair were seen walking across the forecourt and into the garage shop at 3.40am on Saturday before attacking the 61-year-old employee.

They jumped over the counter and pushed her to the ground before searching for what they could grab.

The frightened shop assistant managed to hit the panic button scaring the pair and causing them to run off.

The only thing they took was the woman's dark green purse containing £20 and several credit cards.

In the CCTV they can be seen walking across the garage forecourt before entering the shop, approaching the counter and jumping over it.

Police now want the public's help in catching these two men.

Detective Constable Lisa Jones said: 'The CCTV images show the two suspects entering the garage and searching behind the counter.

'We are hoping someone may recognise who they are and come forward.'

Det Con Jones praised the garage worker for the courage she showed during the violent robbery. 'The shop assistant should be praised for having the presence of mind to sound the alarm. She was shocked and shaken after this incident.

'We're very keen to track down the two men responsible,' she said.

The victim sustained minor injuries to her wrists, left knee and left ankle. The robbers were last seen running towards Dominos Pizza.

Police were called to the scene and cordoned off the area while scene of crime officers examined it.

The petrol station was not re-opened until 11am on Saturday.

Anyone who saw the incident or has any information about it should contact Gosport CID on 0845 045 45 45 or 01962 841534. Alternatively you can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
