Another navy warship is to be towed from Portsmouth to a Turkish scrapyard.
The Type 42 destroyer HMS Newcastle, known as the Geordie Gunboat, is due to leave the harbour at 11am tomorrow.

Veterans of the first Gulf War are expected to gather at the Round Tower in Old Portsmouth to see the 33-year-old ship off.

During her time in service the ship has served all over the world, including the Gulf and Kosovo.

But she was most well-known for coming to the aid of the people of Montserrat when the volcano on the Caribbean island erupted in 1998.

Early this week HMS Cardiff was towed to Turkey to be recycled.

The Government has announced that HMS Glasgow will also be scrapped.
