PEOPLE with a love of Roman history are needed to help support a museum.

Fishbourne Roman Palace near Chichester is looking to expand its Friends scheme – the only requirement is for potential members to have a love for the internationally-renowned archaeological site.

Britain’s largest Roman residence has a small team of dedicated friends and is looking to expand their numbers.

Jaane Rowehl, Fishbourne’s director, said: ‘We are looking for people to join the friends who love the site and who would be willing to help with fundraising and other activities.

‘They could be retired or looking to try their hand at new things – from event managers to accountants and fundraisers to artists.

‘We are hoping to attract an army of willing champions.’

Friends pays an annual individual membership fee of £18.50 or £37 for a family, which provides benefits including free entry and discounts in the cafe. For details email fishbournefriends@googlemail.com or call (01243) 78982.
