WAITING for a doctor’s appointment can sometimes be dull – but not at one medical centre.

Healthspace South in Padnell Road, Cowplain, is full of vibrant and colourful paintings from Portsmouth & Hampshire Art Society.

A proportion of proceeds from any paintings sold is given to the Rowans Hospice, with a £135 cheque recently handed over.

Heathspace South is a new facility that is part of the £1m medical centre in Cowplain, which is also home to Cowplain Family Practice.

The facility offers a range of outpatient facilities.

Sue Colyer, from Portsmouth & Hampshire Art Society, said: ‘Our chairman, Rita Judd, was approached by Julieanne Page, the operations manager of Heathspace South, to see whether the society would be interested in supplying some paintings for the new premises just opened. Rita and myself came to see the venue and were delighted as it provided a wonderful space to exhibit artwork.’

The society has its annual exhibition at Portsmouth Cathedral, starting on Sunday, July 29, running to Friday, August 10. Entry is free.
