Amy, 27, from North End, says: ‘It’s a celebration really of the fact that my nan went through it and came out the other side.

‘It was a fitness challenge for myself too. I’m doing the Great South Run so this was a good starting point.

‘But mainly I wanted to raise money. So many people are here doing it. It’s great to be a part of it.

‘I think it’s really good, it brings everybody together. At the end of the day we are all here for the same reason. It’s nice to see everybody supporting it.’

And Amy adds her nan will be pleased with her efforts.

‘She’ll be pleased but she’s very modest. She doesn’t like a fuss.’
