DAREDEVILS are being offered the chance to abseil from the Spinnaker Tower.

The Portsmouth landmark has announced five weekends in 2012 when the public can test their limits and abseil from the viewing platform.

Over 120 people took part in the challenge this year, raising thousands for charities.

Commercial manager at the Spinnaker Tower Paul Mahy said: ‘Our summer abseiling event was hugely successful and marked the first time members of the public were given the chance to abseil down the building.

‘For 2012, we want to create an even bigger event, so we have set aside five weekends, and we’re laying down the gauntlet to anyone brave enough.’

The dates are, April 13 to 15, May 5 to 7, June 2 to 5, July 27 to 29, and August 25 to 27. It costs £75.
