THRILLseekers are being invited to abseil down the Spinnaker tower.

The 170m landmark will be available for abseiling from August 8 to 14.

Paul Mahy, commercial manager at the tower, said: ‘We’ve held abseil events for charities before, but this is the first time we’ve opened it to the public.

‘We’ve been listening to our visitors and many of them have been telling us they would love the opportunity to abseil down it.

‘There are a few abseiling events out there but not many that start at 300ft.

‘It will be interesting to see how many people are up for the challenge.’

Individuals can raise money for a charity of their choice.

Places cost £75 each and participants must be over 18.

Abseils will take place at 20-minute intervals from 9am until 6pm.
