A football club is supporting the Rainbow Centre in Fareham as its official charity partner.

Every AFC Portchester kit will bear the Rainbow logo on the back and help with raising awareness of the charity.

AFC Portchester is an FA Chartered Standard club, which currently has 41 teams active across all age groups .

In addition, all of the club’s players and members will be encouraged to
join in with The Rainbow Centre’s
sponsored events, raising much-needed funds.

Some of the players and coaches have already kicked off their support by doing an abseil for charity.

Lara Bull, chief executive of The Rainbow Centre said: ‘We’re so grateful to have the support of everyone at AFC Portchester and we are hoping that this wonderful opportunity will help to raise awareness and vital funds, which will go a long way to helping us to continue our life-changing services.’

AFC Portchester’s youth chairman Phil Jeynes added: ‘Our club is proud to be at the centre of the local community, so the chance to offer the support of our players and members to The
Rainbow Centre was one we couldn’t ignore.

‘Having visited the centre, I’m proud that AFC Portchester will be playing a key role in the coming months and years, in raising money to help the charity continue to change the lives of many local families.’
