A MAJOR sporting venue is turning pink today to raise money and increase awareness for a new breast cancer support centre in Titchfield.

The Ageas Bowl, the home of Hampshire Cricket, will be lit pink for the breast cancer support centre, which will be run by The Haven.

The new centre in Titchfield will cover the whole of the Wessex region and is due to open in October.

The Haven will work with the NHS to go beyond medical treatment, to help patients and their families cope with the wider impact of breast cancer through one-to-one personalised and specialist care.

Ageas Bowl commercial director Stuart Robertson said: ‘We’re delighted to support The Haven for our Ladies Day – it’s a charity which is close to the hearts of a lot of people in the county.

‘But not only is this an excellent opportunity to raise a lot of money for a great cause, this also allows us to continue our ongoing efforts to promote women in sport and in particular, their participation in cricket.’
