LONG queues built up on the A3 after a car lost control and crashed.

The single-car collision involved a Toyota Yarris and happened at about 11.10am today on the A3 southbound near Liphook service station.

Both the north and southbound carriageways were closed from 12.30pm to 1pm to allow the air ambulance to land.

The woman driving the car was taken to Queen Alexandra Hospital, in Cosham, for treatment. Queues stretched as far back as Hindhead tunnel, but all lanes were re-opened by 1pm.
