FROM information on college enrolment, to finding out more about organ donation, the first Cosham Community Day was held.

Cosham fire station hosted the event yesterday – which will be held each Monday until October, excluding Bank Holidays.

Firefighter Glen Wilie, who helped organise it, said: ‘It’s about getting different groups into the station and promote themselves.

‘People were able to take advantage of the advice and talk to us about arranging home safety visits.’

The South Downs College enrolment team, the British Red Cross’ fire and emergency support service and PCSOs were some of the groups on hand.

David Lifton, 65, of Highbank Road, Widley, said: ‘I thought I’d go and have a look and I got information on volunteering at the Red Cross.’
