For the third year running, South Coast Performers’ summer intensive school will see a group of professionals teaching Portsmouth youngsters during their summer break.

The course offers students an insight into the dance industry, including a look behind the scenes with workshops in costume and props.

The week-long summer camp comprises ballet, jazz, free movement and choreography, pointe technique, and learning from Vienna Festival Ballet’s repertoire.

This year the group welcomes Joel Morris from the Isle of Wight, who has danced with South African Ballet Theatre, Tivoli, Vienna Festival Ballet and has just been part of Cats the musical in the West End, as a guest teacher.

The course will be run by Samantha Bosshardt, from Portsmouth, who has danced for NeoBallet and is with Vienna Festival Ballet.

The former Portsmouth Grammar School student began her dance career at 16, when she moved to London.

She said: ‘I look forward to making my annual visit home.’
