THE number of apprenticeships in the south east has risen by 39 per cent between 2009 and 2011.

There are now 41,890 apprenticeships, compared to 30,170 two years ago during the recession.

Sharon Bowles MEP, said: ‘The figures are good news as apprenticeships are an excellent way for young people to gain skills and knowledge which will help them in their career.’
