APPRENTICES working with Fareham Borough Council have attended a reception to meet with the council leader.

Councillor Sean Woodward met the 15 apprentices and the Mayor of Fareham, Councillor Trevor Cartwright at the civic offices. The apprentices are based at the council, working in its departments.

They are studying over a 12 to 18-month period for a nationally-recognised vocational qualification.

The formal training for the apprentices is taking place at Fareham, Eastleigh and Sparsholt colleges.

Cllr Woodward said: ‘The apprenticeship programme is providing the skills people need to take into the workplace.

‘All our apprentices are doing well.’
